NAMS Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Allen PEng MSc as its inaugural Executive Director.
Nicole has specialist experience in strategic planning, asset management and transportation. Nicole’s expertise in infrastructure asset management has focused on training and support of small and large rural and urban communities across Western and Northern Canada.
In Nicole’s words, “this is such an honor and opportunity to further build the deliverables for NAMS Canada. We are committed to delivering quality training in asset management, particularly through our online Professional Certificate, to build the capacity of the municipal and public works sector in Canada. Our strength will continue to be our focus on practical outcomes.”
Before joining NAMS Canada, Nicole was a Founding Partner and Director of Infrastructure Asset Management with ATANA Management. Nicole was born and raised in Saskatchewan and is now based in Alberta. After finishing her BSc degree at the University of Saskatchewan, she moved to New Zealand working as a project engineer for a large engineering and construction firm.
In 2008, Nicole returned to Canada and began working with VEMAX Management on a variety of infrastructure life cycle costing and management projects. She has specialized in working closely with municipal staff and elected officials to provide training and support for infrastructure asset management planning.
Nicole has been a key presenter of the IPWEA / NAMS Canada online Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning. Nicole will continue, along with Allen Mapstone, as our principle course presenters of the Professional Certificate, in addition to her new role as Executive Director of NAMS Canada.
The appointment of Nicole Allen as Executive Director is an important milestone in the development and growth of the NAMS Canada team to support capacity building of infrastructure asset management in the Canadian municipal and public works sector.
