    I am not sure how detailed or in-depth you want go but, the Institute of Asset Management has a great 8 minute video that gives a very simplistic overview of Asset Management. I dropped the link below.

    Hi Rob,

    As part of the District of Saanich's Asset Management Program, we created in-house Asset Management Introductory training based on resources provided by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and the Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM):

    Both FCM and CNAM have a number of other excellent resources as well.

    FCM, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, has a great asset management resource section. Look under Programs - Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP). There are links to other communities of practice sites as well.

    This is a great video that East Gwillimbury used in a Council Workshop:

    As for City staff training, I am developing and piloting a 3 module PowerPoint system. 

    The modules are:

    • Module 1 - Academics and Legislation (includes the above linked video)
    • Module 2 - Asset Management System, Documents and Enablers
    • Module 3 - Asset Management Strategy and Plans

    Module 1 is complete. Module 2 is about 75% complete. Module 3 expected in about 2-3 weeks.
